Chapter 433

Gideon and Yvette hadn't listened to Calliope's advice, and eventually, they found themselves at the doorstep of

Myers Manor.

Calliope allowed them to be shown in. Seated comfortably on the couch, she

looked up at Yvette and Gideon as they entered.

Yvette's face was drawn and tired, clearly showing the strain she was under, both physically and emotionally.

"Take a seat," Calliope said in a calm, measured tone.

"Could you get them scoffee?" she instructed one of the staff nearby.

In no time, two steaming cups of coffee were brought over to them.

Calliope herself held a mug of hot coffee, glancing briefly at Yvette and then at Gideon. "So, why are you here?

It's not just to apologize, is it?"

If it were only an apology, they wouldn't have gone out of their way to chere. Clearly, there was more to it.

"We did cto apologize," Gideon replied. "Aunt Calliope, I'm sorry for what happened yesterday with Yvette.

Whatever punishment you think is fair, just say the word. Punishing her ormakes no difference!"

Gideon continued, "Whatever you decide, we'll comply."

Calliope smirked slightly. "She's already faced the punishment, and so have you. Your reputations are already in

tatters."

"You... you're still not satisfied, are you? Whatever it takes to make it right, just say it," Gideon said, taking a

deep breath. "We'll do whatever you ask."

"I'm not planning on doing anything more. If that's all you cfor, you can leave. I'm quite busy, you know. I've

got other matters to attend to."

Hearing this, Gideon quickly interjected, "Calliope, Uncle Silas must be furious too, right? Could you please speak

to him for me?"

His eyes were pleading as he looked at Calliope.

"I know | messed up, and I'm sure if | go to see Uncle Silas, he won't forgive me. But maybe if you could say a

few words on my behalf?. realize my mistake, and I'm ready to make amends. I'm planning to make things right

with Yvette and not trouble you anymore!"

Gideon looked at Calliope with hope in his eyes.

Yvette, however, remained sullen throughout. She couldn't stand seeing Gideon begging Calliope. Her

resentment towards Calliope was palpable.

If it weren't for Gideon's insistence on coming to apologize and seeking Calliope and Silas' forgiveness, she

would never have come.

Though she had shot herself in the foot, she still held a grudge against Calliope. It was Calliope's fault for being

so unreasonable; otherwise, she wouldn't have been so humiliated.

"What you do with your life is none of my concern. And as for Silas's reaction, well, that's entirely up to him. It's

not my business. Gideon, did you really think | would step in for you?"

Calliope looked at him incredulously.

"Even if I'm not one to hold grudges, I'm certainly not going to help you out."

"But Calliope, we're begging you here!" Yvette shouted in frustration.

"Just because you're asking doesn't mean | have to oblige," Calliope responded with a dry chuckle. "Sorry, I'm

not that kind of person."

"Callie, I'm asking you as a favor. You're not someone who forgets the past," Gideon pleaded, looking at Calliope

with expectation.

Calliope shook her head. "Instead of pleading with me, you should be talking to Silas."

She shrugged as she kept on, "The Baker Group's businesses are not forto manage."

With that, she stood up. She cast one last glance at Gideon and Yvette and, without another word, turned on her

heel and made her way upstairs, leaving them behind.
