Chapter 117 Waiting is the hardest part.
But finally, the day of the wedding had arrived.
Serena wasn't eagerly anticipating the wedding with Aaron. She was counting down to the moment after the ceremony when William had promised to help her leave Alderburg.
By five in the morning, Serena found herself whisked away to the hotel, sitting in the makeup room.
She felt like a Christmas tree, allowing the staff to decorate her as they saw fit.
Her eyes held no expectation, and her expression was as still as a pond, causing the staff to tread lightly around her.
At eight-thirty, with the help of the staff, Serena finally donned her wedding gown.

The surrounding staff looked on with envy.
But within Serena, there was no ripple of emotion.
Aaron had plenty of money; what he lacked was time. So he gave her the money and spent his twith Cynthia Lynwood.
"Mr. Vance." The respectful voice behind her brought Serena back to the present.
She turned to see Aaron, her expression shifting slightly.
Dressed in a bespoke Italian suit, Aaron appeared like a prince, exuding an air of noble grace.
His striking features were bathed in the morning light, giving him an intense aura.
He walked towards her with long, confident strides, each step resonating in the hearts of those around them.
"You look stunning today," Aaron remarked as he stopped in front of Serena.
It wasn't flattery; it was simply the truth.
Serena smiled faintly, "Mr. Vance, do you know it's considered bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding?" Aaron raised an eyebrow, "And what sort of bad luck is that?" "Seeing each other before the wedding means the couple is destined to part," Serena replied.
A flicker of discomfort crossed Aaron's face, but he wrapped his arm around Serena's waist, his warm breath brushing against her cheek, "That's just superstition. We will never part." Serena tried to break free from Aaron's grip, but he held her even tighter.
Unable to escape, Serena looked up into Aaron's deep eyes, "Aaron, we've known each other for four years now. It's a big day, so I'll be civil. But you must answerhonestly." Aaron nodded, "What's the question?" "Did you send Cynthia Lynwood away because you had ulterior motives?" Aaron's expression shifted.
He did have personal reasons for sending Cynthia away. How had Serena figured it out? Seeing Aaron's silence, Serena knew her suspicions were correct.
Even though she was prepared for it, her heart still sank.

Before Serena could finish, Victor burst into the room, Mr Vance, Mr. Grayson has arrived!"
He stopped short, noticing the am intimate stance of Aaron and Serena. He awkwardly hesitated, unsure whether to stay or leave.
Serena seized the opportunity to slip out of Aaron's grasp.
William had kept his promise.
She could finally leave Alderburg.
Aaron couldn't miss the visible relief on Serena's face.
His gaze darkened, "Where is he?"
"At the entrance." Without an invitation, Victor wasn't certain if he should let William in, which is why he sought Aaron's approval.
Aaron adjusted his suit and strode out of the dressing room.
