Chapter 153 After Serena left, it wasn't long before Aaron and Cynthia Lynwood also made their exit.

The two departed together and got into a Rolls-Royce at the stime, naturally drawing envious glances from onlookers.

Inside the car, Cynthia Lynwood was in high spirits.

Though Aaron always wore a stern expression, she was convinced he cared for her. Otherwise, he wouldn't have bought this imitation of the Diamond Crown just because she said she liked it.

"Aaron..." Cynthia began, but Aaron cut her off coolly, "This Diamond Crown doesn't suit you. Tomorrow, have Victor take you to buy another piece of jewelry." With that, he reached out with his long arm and took the Diamond Crown from her.

Cynthia looked at her now-empty hands, her face paling.

After a long pause, she forced a smile and replied, "Alright." The car cruised steadily down the road.

But her heart had sunk to the depths.

At the entrance to the apartment complex.

Samuel parked the car and unbuckled his seatbelt. "Serena, letwalk you up." Serena looked at Samuel, surprised.

Samuel chuckled, "Not to your apartment, I just have a few things I want to say." Serena felt a bit awkward. "Alright." They walked side by side.

After a while, Serena noticed that Samuel still hadn't spoken. She turned her head with a teasing smile. "Didn't you say you had something to tell me?" Samuel scratched his forehead, "I haven't quite figured out how to say it yet. Givea moment." Seeing the blush on his cheeks, Serena couldn't help but laugh.

She slowed her pace, waiting patiently for him to speak.

Yet, even as they entered the elevator, Samuel remained silent.

"Samuel, if you don't speak up soon, we'll reach my place." The mischievous grin on Samuel's face widened. He took a deep breath, looked at Serena, and the laughter in his eyes faded, leaving only earnestness and sincerity.

For a moment, Serena felt like she was back in her youthful days of budding romance.

"Serena, I know that no sweet words can compare to a sincere heart, so I want to ask, can you givea chance?" Serena's eyes flickered. Even though she didn't have romantic feelings for Samuel, his heartfelt proposal touched her.

But unfortunately...

"Don't rush to turndown," Samuel quickly interjected, seemingly anticipating her response. "Just think it over, and you can givean answer later." Serena looked into Samuel's flushed face and couldn't bring herself to say no, so she nodded.

Samuel visibly relaxed.

He gave Serena a shy smile, his expression endearing.

Serena felt playful. "Is this your first tconfessing to someone?" Samuel blushed even more.

He looked up and noticed the elevator had reached the 28th floor.

"We're here," he said, reminding Serena.

Serena glanced at the open elevator door and then back at Samuel. "I'll in e head hthen." Samuel nodded.

They shared a brief look before Serena stepped out of the elevator.

As she pulled out her keys, she heard the elevator doors close behind her. Serena sighed softly, looking back towards the elevator. She suspected she was going to disappoint Samuel.

She didn't have romantic feelings for him.

Just as she was about to unlock her door, she heard heavy footsteps approaching from behind: Turning around, she saw Aaron, momentarily stunned. She noticed he was carrying a box, though she had no idea what was inside.

She averted her gaze, choosing not to engage.

Aaron lived right across from her.

Though he rarely visited, it was still a bit of a bother.
