Chapter 87 When Serena cto, she found herself lying on a cold, sterile operating table.
One of her hands was shackled, rendering her unable to move.
Suddenly, a thought struck her, and she quickly reached towards her abdomen with her free hand.
No incision.
Which meant- Her kidney was still intact.

This must be the operating room.
But then...
If Aaron wanted her kidney, why hadn't he gone through with it yet? Just as she puzzled over this, the doors swung open.
Cynthia Lynwood was pushed in, seated in a wheelchair.
And the one pushing her was Matthew.
"Serena, how are you feeling?" Cynthia asked with a hint of false concern.
Serena narrowed her eyes. "Where's Aaron?" "Aaron's outside. Do you want to see him?" "Bring him in!" "I'm afraid Aaron doesn't want to see you right now, unless..." Cynthia's eyes flickered toward Matthew. Matthew, understanding the unspoken cue, pulled out a stack of papers and placed them next to Serena. "Just sign these," he instructed.
Serena lay still, refusing to comply. "I won't sign." She couldn't see what the papers contained, but anything Cynthia Lynwood wanted her to sign couldn't be good. "Serena, I suggest you sign. These are consent forms for you to donate your kidney to me. Once you sign, the surgery can proceed, and you'll be free of all this sooner, wouldn't that be a relief?" Cynthia coaxed.
Serena chuckled humorlessly, "Cynthia Lynwood, tell me, how do you know my kidney is a match for yours? If I recall correctly, I've never undergone any compatibility tests." Cynthia let out a delicate laugh, "Dear sister, haven't you figured it out by now? You didn't do the tests, but Aaron did them for you. Why else would Aaron insist on bringing you back to Northspire?" Serena's gaze turned icy, "Oh? You said Aaron refused to be withbecause he foundrepulsive, but Aaron toldhe never uttered such words. Aaron's outside, isn't he? Call him in, I want to confront him." A flicker of panic crossed Cynthia's eyes, but she quickly masked it with a smile, "Serena, Aaron's worried you might get too worked up seeing him. That's why he specifically instructed not to cin. Just sign the papers, won't you?" "Is he really outside, or is he not here at all?" Serena challenged.
Hearing this, Cynthia looked at Serena, "Serena, you're just delaying the inevitable. Matthew..." "I understand," Matthew replied, exiting the room.

Serena's eyes widened in shock.
The Tri-Glaze Pottery was the very item she had sold, when buying her marital home! How had it ended up with Cynthia Lynwood?
"Serena, when will you finally understand?" Cynthia's voice was soft yet as weighty as a mountain, nearly suffocating Serena. The m reason Aaron bought the house was because I wanted this Tri-Glaze Pottery. But Aaron said you cherished the antiques your father left you and would never sell them. So, we devised this plan. We never expected you to fall for it so easily." Serena's body trembled uncontrollably.
The idea to buy the house was indeed Aaron's suggestion.
At the time, she had secretly rejoiced over it for quite a while.
