Chapter 221 Ella was humiliated and broke down in tears.
In the past, she had always relied on Zachary's backing, and everyone around her had followed her lead. Even Caleb, her director, had always been accommodating.
Now, no one cto her defense. She felt humiliated and angry, turning her frustration onto Joycelyn and the others.
"You're all bullying me," she snapped.
"Ella, apologize to Mr. Grant now!" Caleb ordered, his face pale with anger.
"Senior..." "Don't callthat. We're not that familiar,” Caleb immediately distanced himself, then turned to Ellison, bowing his head in apology. "Mr. Grant, I'm sorry. She's new here and has received sspecial treatment because of our alum connection. I never expected her to offend you." Caleb, fearing being dragged down by Ella's foolishness, hurriedly apologized to Ellison.
Joycelyn thought, 'Now I see what kind of person Ella is-she's not just clueless, her emotional intelligence is non- existent. She's even more spoiled than those rich girls.
"I was just saying something casually. Do you have to be this harsh? Fine, I'm leaving. I don't care about staying here!" Ella, unable to back down, angrily turned to leave.
Unaware, she was stopped by William. "You didn't want to leave before, but now the company's concerned that your loose lips might leak confidential information. Cwith me." Ella's panic was evident as she quickly pulled out her phone, dialing for help.
William didn't stop her but signaled for others to escort her out.

"This is unbelievable," Lucy muttered, her sleeves rolled up in frustration, feeling as though she might explode from anger.
"Calm down. Getting too worked up isn't good for you. Go change your clothes first." Joycelyn said, spotting Sandra walk out of the elevator holding a branded shopping bag.
"Mr. Grant, I've been slandered as your mistress-this is workplace harassment-I deserve compensation! Damn, what bad luck," Lucy shouted at Ellison, still seething, as Joycelyn nudged her forward.
Everyone froze in place, too afraid to speak.
She wasn't Mr. Grant's mistress-it was more like an enemy, someone who was about to challenge him openly. "Alright, I'll have William take care of it," Ellison said calmly, trying to soothe the fuming Lucy.
Once Joycelyn and Lucy left, the entire floor of employees held their breath, pretending to work but listening intently, not wanting to miss a thing.
"I brought someone in at a high cost and placed them under your management, and this is how you handle it? You're letting this kind of mess happen in my company?" Ellison turned, his gaze sharp and cutting, exuding the cold, unapproachable authority of someone at the top.
1/3 Chapter 221 Caleb's heart skipped a heat.
"It's my fault," Caleb immediately apologized, his head lowered in regret.
"If you can't manage properly, then step aside Ellison said, his words firm. Calel's hands, which had been resting at his sides, suddenly clenched. "Mr. Grant, you're right, he replied, his voice sublued Once Caleb acknowledged Ellison's words, he looked up to see Ellison's retreating figure. A cold sweat broke out across his body, his back drenched in it.
While Lucy changed, Joycelyn and Sandra waited outside. Unable to resist, Joycelyn casually asked Sandra about Zachary "Sandra, you saw Ellen and Susan at the event last time. What's your take on that (angelic) bitch? "Well, you know how these wealthy old men are they all have their mistresses. But Zachary is something else. Years ago, when Ellison and his family were in a car accident, Ellen just happened to be passing by and saved Ellison's life.
"Because of that, Luma's always been especially good to the Willows family, and he holds a pretty significant position at the company. But judging by how Mrs. Willows seemed yesterday, she probably has no clue about his actions outside of their marriage." "I see," Joycelyn said, processing the details but deciding not to pry further. She thought, I figured the whole mess was finally over.
She never expected the to continue, and even more surprising, it wasn't Zachary showing up at the company-it was Susan.
She seemed to be nearby. Ten minutes before the workday ended, Susan, with Zachary's assistant, cornered Lucy in her office.
"Are you Lucy?" Susan asked, standing by Lucy's desk. Her Chanel suit radiated elegance, and her Hermes bag was worth a small fortune-a clear indication of her high-status upbringing.
Lucy, just finishing packing her bag, met Susan's gaze and nodded. "Yes." "What did Ella do to deserve this? She was slapped in the face and fired, and she's just an intern! Why are you going after her?" Susan's voice was forceful, and there was no warmth in her eyes as she faced Lucy.
"You should ask her," Lucy responded coolly. "What made her think she could accuseof being Mr. Grant's mistress in front of him?" Susan frowned at the remark, clearly displeased. "Ella is just naive. If she said that, it's because you did something to make her believe it,” Susan said, clearly protective of Ella.
Lucy couldn't help but laugh, feeling both amused and frustrated. "And who are you?" "I'm Susan Willows," she replied, standing tall.
"Susan? Mr. Willows' only daughter? I've heard you're about to take over Mr. Willows' position and becthe youngest board member at Grant Group. It's an honor," Caleb said, stepping forward to shake her hand.
Susan merely glanced at Caleb, not offering her hand in return.
Caleb realized he had overstepped and quickly pulled his hand back, embarrassed. "Sorry, I got carried av and forgot the difference between men and women." Caleb's words undoubtedly elevated Susan's status to the highest level. As the only daughter of the company's board member, she was set to inherit Mr. Willows' position and likely becone of the top executives at Grant Group.

The poised and elegant Susan from the event last tstood before her, dressed in a sharp suit that screamed high-powered professional.
"Ella is a student sponsored by the Willows family, and she's also Ellen's adopted daughter. She cto intern at Grant Group in a minor position, but instead of just being fired, she's been publicly humiliated. I'm here to get an explanation." Susan said, her voice cool but demanding.
Joycelyn thought. Hearing Susan's words, there's more to this than I expected. The Willows family's M adopted daughter, but I've heard she's involved with Zachary. She's using her status to intimidate others. No wonder Ella felt confident enough to act so arrogantly "Ms. Willows, if you're looking for an explanation, maybe you should first take a look at the surveillance footage?" Joycelyn suggested, stepping closer to stand beside Lucy.
Her demeanor was graceful and non-confrontational, yet there was an undeniable air of authority about her. Susan's eyes narrowed as she looked at Joycelyn's delicate, ethereal face, clearly taken aback by her appearance.
In just a few seconds, Susan's lips curled into a cold smile. "So, there's someone powerful behind this. No wonder Ella's been suffering.
Without another word, Susan and her assistant left.
Once Lucy got in the car, her frustration finally boiled over.
"Wait, is it normal for Susan to step in and defend Zachary's mistress like this? Are rich families this open- minded?" Lucy was completely stunned as if her entire perspective had been shattered.
"Joycelyn, she seems to know your background?" "Yeah, we met at the event last time." Joycelyn wasn't worried about Susan knowing her identity; her mind was focused on something else.
Lucy, sensing Joycelyn's distraction, wondered if she had caused her any trouble. She sighed. “Did I make things worse?" Hearing the sadness in Lucy's voice, Joycelyn quickly snapped back to reality.
"Don't be silly. I was thinking about something. Remember what Ellison toldthe other day? He and Haddy signed a partnership, and now they're putting together a new team for the overseas market. You're talented and capable-why not lead the team? Haddy believes in you, and you could even get a double salary." "Wait, what? I'd be working under Haddy?" Lucy's frustration flared up again, but this time, it was mixed with excitement.
Sandra, who was driving, immediately chimed in, "Sure, double salary! The best part is that Haddy has such a good personality. If you get mad at him, he won't be upset-he'll probably think he did something wrong and try to make it right." Luc salary!" AD Comment Send gift
