Chapter 401 Suzanne felt her body had gone a little stiff after staying in the sposition for so long. She moved her arms a bit before picking up her cup and heading toward the pantry.
The coffee at Yates Corporation wasn't bad; they used fairly good beans. Suzanne took her tbrewing some.
Just then, Seline walked in holding her own cup. Suzanne gave her a brief glance, then lifted her cup and prepared to walk out. But Seline stepped in front of her, blocking her path.

Seline glared at her and was about to lash out but quickly suppressed the anger on her face. She tucked her long hair neatly behind her ears, looked at Suzanne with a smug smile, and asked, "Suzanne, have you heard of the Fawley family?" Suzanne looked at her indifferently. The Fawleys were the most prestigious family in Dudore, second only to the Halls. What was Seline bringing them up for out of nowhere? Seeing that Suzanne didn't respond, Seline grew even more pleased with herself. She walked over to the coffee machine and went on proudly, "Micah Fawley is hosting a banquet in a few days. Jenson's taking me." Her face was glowing with happiness and satisfaction as she glanced back at Suzanne with disdain. "Unlike you. So what if you're Jane Smith? You're still not qualified to go." A banquet hosted by the Fawleys would definitely be attended by all the top elite heirs. It was a great opportunity to broaden one's horizons and make connections with high-society ladies. More importantly, since Seline would be going with Jenson, her identity as his girlfriend could finally be made public.
The thought of this had her thrilled.
Suzanne's hand paused slightly, a flicker of irony passing through her eyes.
Back when she and Jenson were together, she got bashed by his fans and he said nothing. But when Seline was criticized, he would rush to defend her. Clearly, he preferred Seline more.
All those flowers he had been sending lately were clearly just part of his PR campaign for his acting career. But what did any of that have to do with her? Suzanne took a light sip of her coffee and looked at Suzanne with a mocking smile. Seline frowned, glaring at her with a cold voice. "What are you smiling at?" Even after being dumped by Jenson like that, how could she still smile? Suzanne looked at her and shook her head as she continued to grin "Are you naive or just stupid? Do you really think there's any family out there who wouldn't want to curry favor with Jane Smith?" Only someone as brainless as Seline would flaunt an invite to the Fawley family's banquet in front of her The Fawleys meant nothing to her. They were definitely not worth clinging to. She had no interest in such things at all.
Seline's expression froze, and her grip on the cup tightened. She recalled how Cindy had once begged Suzanne for treatment, even kneeling in front of everyone. It was entirely possible that all the powerful families were indeed trying to get in Suzanne's good graces.
Suzanne looked up, her gaze sharp like a blade as she said in a low voice, "Besides, are you really trying to make a comparison between men and me?" The jab landed right where it hurt, and Seline's gaze darkened. She glared at Suzanne and was about to speak when Suzanne cut her off directly.
"He's just a piece of trash I didn't want. What right do you have to show off in front of me?" All she felt for Jenson now was disgust. She didn't even know what she had been thinking, falling for someone like that.

Her face turned red with fury, but the last word got stuck in her throatm Saying it would be admitting she was insulting Jenson too, just like Suzanne. Then, as if something occurred to her, Seline gave Suzanne a mocking smile. "Oh. You're just jealous, aren't you?" Suzanne blinked, momentarily thrown off by the sheer absurdity of the comment.
Seline paused, then continued, "Being jealous won't help you. Jenson's mine now. He won't even look at ar old hag like you. So what if you're an capable? You're still just someone a man threw away." Her expression was full of smugness as if she had completely trampled Suzanne underfoot.
Suzanne just stared with a flat expression, unimpressed. She m couldn't believe it. In this day and Er age, people still said such crap.
