“Madam Weiss...” Amalia quickly greeted when she spotted Cecil and Calen walking inside the room. “I-I didn’t

know you would come.” If she'd had known, she would have immediately asked Izzy to leave!

“I have been busy. | forgot to call. | hope you don’t mind,” Cecil said.

“Of course,” Amalia replied, glancing at Monica, who immediately changed her expression when she saw Calen.

“I didn’t think you would have the guts to come.” Cecil took a step forward, her gaze locking onto Izzy. “You may

think showing up here was a power move,” Cecil said, her voice calm. “But you owe this family more than an

apology. What you did deserves consequences, and we will be pursuing legal action. Rest assured, Isabella, we

will not settle for anything less than justice.”

Izzy chuckled softly, shaking her head as if Cecil’s words were little more than an amusing joke. “Justice? You

mean you want a bigger payout, right? Well, go on then,” she said. “File your case. Drag your perfect son's dirty

laundry into the courtroom. I'll be waiting.” She arched a brow, daring Cecil to press further. “I mean... a fickle

man who can’t even manage his private life is something that many people would trust to handle a multimillion

dollar company, right?”

The tension in the room thickened as Cecil's gaze sharpened, her lips pressing into a thin line. Izzy's unrelenting

confidence grated on her nerves. Did the girl truly believe she held all the cards? Cecil had made her own

preparations.

The restaurant had no CCTV footage, and the waitstaff confirmed that no one nearby could have seen or

overheard anything that happened that night. With no solid evidence to contradict Monica's version of events,

Cecil was convinced Izzy was bluffing.

Did Izzy really think Cecil wouldn't have the guts to take this to court? Or perhaps she was relying on the threat

of scandal- on the fact that a lawsuit would inevitably drag Calen’s infidelity and Monica’s betrayal into the

media spotlight, tarnishing the Weiss family’s reputation. If that was her strategy, it was a bold one.

Cecil stepped forward, her voice low but laced with steel. “You're playing with fire, Izzy,” she said, each word

deliberate and heavy with warning. “You might be enjoying this little gnow, but you won't be laughing when

the flames consyou.” “You're all talk, Madam Weiss,” Izzy taunted. “I've been waiting for your lawyers. Do

you wantto wait forever?”

Amalia shifted uncomfortably, her mind whirling with desperate thoughts. She never expected Izzy to actually

have this kind of attitude towards Madam Weiss! What was she thinking!? “Wait,” Amalia interjected, stepping

between them. Her smile was strained, held together by sheer willpower. “There’s no need for that, Izzy. Let's

not escalate things. We can handle this within the family. If you would just... apologize to Monica and

compensate her appropriately, we can avoid any mess.” Izzy tilted her head, clearly amused. “Ah, there it is-the

real reason you wantedhere,” she said. “Money. You wantto pay you off. You just lost a member of your

family and you were already thinking of the paycheck. Pathetic, isn’t it?”

“You-" Monica sat up straighter, her hands shaking. Seeing Calen again stirred emotions she had tried to

suppress earlier. “You're still part of this family! You think you're so much better than us just because you have

money? You ruined everything! If it weren't for you-"

Izzy interrupted with a cold laugh. “If it weren't for me, what? You'd still be sneaking around, betraying everyone

who trusted you? Or... you'd be sneaking around, asking people for their money to kill your baby.”

“Izzy, that’s enough,” Calen said. “You've said too much. Don’t forget, Monica just lost her child.”

Izzy snorted. “Right... of course, she just lost your child.”

Hearing the nonchalance in Izzy's voice, Monica's face twisted in rage. Tears welled in her eyes as she clutched

bedsheets, lowering her gaze. Her shoulders trembled as though overtaken by grief. Slowly, she began to cry,

her tears flowing freely.

“I never meant for any of this to happen,” she sobbed softly. “Izzy, please... I've made mistakes, but | didn’t want

things to end this way. | loved Calen... | couldn't help it. But I've learned my lesson. I've paid the price. Isn't that

enough?”

Izzy's gaze hardened. Monica's theatrics weren't lost on Amalia, who rushed to her daughter's side, patting her

arm as if to comfort her.

“See?” Amalia said to Izzy, seizing the moment. “Monica’s willing to take responsibility. She's willing to make

amends. Can't you find it in your heart to forgive her? You already murdered her child, and yet she’s willing to

forgive you. We're all family, Izzy. Family forgives. Family supports each other.”

“Family?” Izzy echoed, her voice low and dangerous. “You've been using that word a lot today, Aunt Amalia. But

tellsince when did ‘family’ mean manipulating and betraying each other for personal gain?”

Monica whimpered pathetically. “I... | just wanted to be happy, Izzy. | never wanted to hurt you but you- you

actually killed my child.”

Izzy crossed her arms. “You know, Monica?” she said with a smile. “I didn’t think you were so good at acting. If |

didn’t know you now, | might have believed how pitiful you look.” She took a slow step forward. “Letmake

one thing clear. You want to sue me? Go ahead. But if you think crying and begging will makeroll over and

hand you a blank check, you're sorely mistaken.”

“What a heartless bitch,” Cecil muttered, glaring at Izzy. She said nothing further, knowing the younger woman

wouldn't be intimidated.

Meanwhile, Monica continued to weep, occasionally glancing at Calen for support. Yet the man remained stoic.

Finally, Izzy sighed and turned toward the door. “I've had enough of this little reunion. Good luck with your

lawsuit. You're going to need it.”

“Izzy!” Amalia called out in a last-ditch effort. “Think of the damage this will cause to all of us. The media will dig

into everything. Isn't there sway we can settle this peacefully?”

Izzy paused and glanced over her shoulder, her gaze sharp. “You're the ones who want a settlement. You're the

ones who betrayed me. You want peace? Earn it.”

Without another word, Izzy walked out, the heavy slam of the door reverberating through the tense silence she

left behind.

“Madam Weiss... |...” Amalia began, her voice uncertain, but the words caught in her throat as Calen suddenly

bolted from the room without a second glance.

“Calen!” Monica gasped, her eyes widening in shock as he ran after Izzy, his footsteps echoing down the hallway.

The sting of his dismissal cut deep. She had just lost their child! Yet there he was, abandoning her in her grief

without a word of comfort. Her hands clenched into fists, nails digging into her palms.

Amalia stumbled forward in disbelief. “Madam Weiss, please! Izzy is-"

Sadly, she was silenced once again as Cecil brushed past her with an icy glare, marching swiftly out of the room,

following after Calen without sparing Monica or Amalia a single look.

The sound of the door closing behind Cecil echoed like a death knell. Dumbfounded, Amalia stood frozen. She

slowly turned to her daughter, her eyes wide with confusion. “They... they didn’t even care to ask how you

were.”

Monica let out a bitter, trembling laugh filled with venom. Her tear-streaked face twisted in anger.

“They didn’t chere for me, Mom. None of them did,” she hissed, her voice cracking. “They cfor Izzy.

Always Izzy”

Her hands tightened around the bedsheets as her rage surged. “Calen didn’t even look at me,” she said through

gritted teeth. “Our baby’s gone... and he couldn't even stay. He ran after her like | didn’t even exist. That bitch!

She's always been a shadow over my life!” Monica's eyes burned with fury, her hatred for Izzy now deeper than

ever.
