“Miss, the CEO is looking for you,” Anna said the moment Izzy arrived at the Weiss building.

Izzy smiled and nodded. She already knew this was going to happen soon. She walked briskly through the
building's corridors, her heels clicking on the polished marble floors. Cecil Weiss was pulling strings behind the
scenes, no doubt.
After placing her bag in her office, Izzy grabbed only her phone and made her way to the CEO's office. When she
arrived, she knocked on the door, and the secretary promptly opened it tepping aside to let her in.
Inside, CEO Renard Weiss stood by the window, speaking on the phone. He gestured for Izzy to take a seat. She
did so without a word, crossing her legs and resting her hands on her lap. Moments later, Renard ended his call,
placed the phone on his desk, and turned toward her.
“Would you like coffee or tea?” he asked, leaning back in his chain
Izzy shook her head. “A bottle of water will do.”
Renard gestured to his secretary, who promptly left the room to fulfill the request. He then sat across from Izzy,
folding his hands on the desk.
“Do you know why | called you here?” he asked.
Izzy tilted her head slightly. “Is this about the Macao project?”
Renard chuckled softly and shook his head. “I think we both know that’s not the main reason.”
Izzy feigned a puzzled expression. “Then what is it?”

Renard leaned forward, his posture more serious. “I've been informed about the miscarriage, Izzy. Cecil has been
pushingto remove you from the project. She’s concerned about your conduct and what she describes as...
questionable behavior.”
Izzy's lips twitched into a faint smirk. “And replacewith Calen, | assume?”
Renard nodded. “That's exactly what she wants.”
Izzy exhaled slowly, gathering her thoughts. “CEO Weiss, you and | both know that I've led this project from the
start. The investors trust me, and I’ve built solid relationships with them. Calen may have experience, but he’s
hardly familiar with the complexities of Macao's business landscape.”
Renard rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “You're right. However, Cecil's influence isn’t something | can ignore. She's
been adamant, and it’s putting pressure on the board. They're questioning whether it's wise to keep you in
charge.”
Izzy's gaze sharpened. “So, are you saying you're considering removing me?”
Renard paused for a moment, then leaned back. “No. But | need you to givea reason not to. Something solid
| can present to the board. If you have a strategy to counter this, now’s the tto share it.”
“I have no intention of letting this project go, and | won't let personal grievances derail it,” Izzy said. “Give me
until the next board meeting. I'll present the project's current status, along with detailed projections for the next
quarter. If anyone on the board has doubts about my performance, they won't after that. And...”
“And?”

“And | will give everyone proof that | am being slandered.”
Renard studied her for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Alright you have until the board meeting. But tread
carefully, Izzy. Cecil won't back down easily.”
“I wouldn't expect her to.” 1zzy replied.
“However, | am curious. You know how this works. The board is just concerned that this would affect them, they
are concerned that Macao would do something about it,” Renard said. He folded his arms across his chest and
leaned back in his chair. “You seem very confident, Izzy. Cecil is convinced the case will hold if she files it. She's
also mentioned that Monica has expressed interest in testifying. Can I trust you to clear your nand get
yourself out of this matter?”
Izzy's lips curved into a small smile. Instead of giving him a direct answer, she said, “With all due respect, CEO
Weiss, this is more than just about the project. It’s about my integrity. These accusations are personal, and if
allowed to fester, they'll undermine both my credibility and the project itself. | believe this situation warrants an
emergency board meeting. | need to clear my name.”
Renard tapped his fingers on the desk thoughtfully. “An emergency meeting, you say?”
“Yes,” Izzy said firmly. “This isn’t just about business performance anymore. It's a question of character. If the
board has doubts, I'll face them directly. However, if Mrs. Weiss truly intends to file a case, | will have no choice
but to file one against her for slandering my name. At the end of the day, | am not just an employee of Weiss
Corporation-I am part of the Rossi Group.”
Izzy had a strong suspicion that the reason the CEO wasn’t willing to simply let her go and was giving her a
chance to address the board was because of her connection to the Rossi family. If she weren't a Rossi, she likely
would have been suspended immediately. Since that was the case, Izzy had no qualms about using her family
nthis time.
Just as she expected, Renard narrowed his eyes as he considered her words. After a moment, he nodded. “Very
well. I'll call for the emergency meeting. But you'll need to have everything in order. | can’t afford for this to turn
into a public mess.” “It will be handled,” Izzy assured him. “CEO Weiss, may | ask why you trustenough to
givethis opportunity? With the scale of the project and the potential fallout, most would have suspended me
immediately.”
Renard shrugged slightly. “At the end of the day, Izzy, I'm a businessman. | take risks. I've seen how you work.
You understand the intricacies of the Macao project better than anyone. It would be reckless to remove you
without giving you a fair chance to defend yourself.”

Izzy sneered inwardly. “Thank you for that. | appreciate the opportunity to prove myself.”
He stood, signaling that the meeting was coming to an end. “Don’t waste it. I'll have my assistant schedule the
meeting with the board as soon as possible. In fact, | want it within the day.”
Izzy stood as well, extending her hand. “I won't disappoint you.”
Renard shook her hand firmly. “Make sure you don’t.”
Izzy gathered her phone and the water bottle, giving him a final mod before turning and leaving the office.
Meanwhile, a smirk immediately appeared on Cecil's face when she read the text sent by her secretary.
“Your father just called for an emergency board meeting,” she uttered as her gaze landed on her son, who sat
opposite her in the café.
