“Miss... congratulations on winning the bid. However, the other conditions they stated...” Anna bit her lower lip.

“I couldn't find anything about the company we're going to be working with

Izzy frowned. Earlier, they had already announced her proposal as the one that won the bidding. However, it

seemed there were a few changes.

“Miss Rossi, Mr. Lin and the rest are waiting for you,” Serena Ji, Mr. Lin's secretary, called her attention. Mr. Lin

was one of the people in charge of the Macau project. He was a key personnel member who evaluated their

proposals and voted for them to pass. “Please follow me.”

Izzy smiled and nodded at Anna, who walked behind her.

Not long after, Miss Ji took them to the second-floor of the ballroom hall, where the main executives for the

project were waiting.

“Miss... please,” Miss Ji said, gesturing for her to go inside. Izzy nodded and complied without asking questions.

Izzy stepped into the room, her expression calm and professional as she took in the sight of the gathered

executives. The room was spacious, with a long, polished table surrounded by influential figures. Swore

tailored suits, while others sported traditional attire that reflected their positions.

To her surprise, Calen was seated near the far end of the table. He acknowledged her with a slight nod, but Izzy

focused on the introductions as Serana Ji gestured toward the executives.

“Miss Rossi, allowto introduce the key personnel for the Macau project,” Miss Ji began.

A man in his late fifties stood first, extending his hand. “I'm Victor Lin, head of the Macau Infrastructure

Development Committee. | believe we have already met during the event. Congratulations on your winning

proposal, Miss Rossi.”

Izzy shook his hand firmly. “Thank you, Mr. Lin. It's an honor to have this opportunity to contribute to such an

important project.”

Next, a woman with short-cropped hair and a sharp suit stepped forward. “Patricia Haynes, senior advisor for

international investments. Your team’s proposal was impressive, Miss Rossi.”

Izzy nodded and shook her hand as well. “Thank you, Ms. Haynes. We worked hard to ensure it met the highest

standards.” The introductions continued as Izzy met several other key figures, including Joseph Kwok, the

regional director of urban planning, and Michael Alvarez, a representative from a private investment group

involved in the project.

As the formalities concluded, Mr. Lin gestured for everyone to take their seats.

Izzy nodded and made her way toward the far end of the table. Instead of sitting directly next to Calen, she

chose a vacant seat that left an empty chair between them.

“We'll get started shortly, but first, letcongratulate you once again on securing this project. Your proposal

stood out for its innovation and practicality, which impressed the committee greatly,” Mr. Lin said.

Izzy inclined her head respectfully. “Thank you, Mr. Lin. My team and | are fully committed to delivering on those

expectations.”

Calen, who had been silent until now, interjected smoothly. “It’s good to see so much enthusiasm. Collaboration

will be critical as we move forward.”

Mr. Lin gestured toward a screen at the far end of the room. “Now, before we proceed, there's one point we must

address.

“A collaborator?” Calen was the first to react. He frowned. “Mr. Lin, | don’t understand. | thought Weiss

International won the bidding.”

Izzy only pursed her lips in response. This was already mentioned earlier when the winners were announced.

However, she couldn't find anything about the company, so all she could do was wait.

Mr. Lin gestured toward the screen as a document appeared on “Letclarify this for everyone. The

government decided to implement a collaborative structure for the Macau project. While Weiss International is

the primary collaborator, several other companies will also play significant roles in ensuring the project's

success.”

Izzy nodded. “That makes sense, Mr. Lin. Collaboration like this is not uncommon in large-scale projects. It allows

us to pool resources and expertise effectively.” She turned towards Calen and lifted an eyebrow. Why was this

bloke acting like he didn’t know this? Did he... forget to read the contract again?.

Mr. Lin turned toward Calen. “Mr. Weiss, | assyou've reviewed the contracts thoroughly. It was clearly stated

that the government reserves the right to amend the terms to facilitate the project's completion.”

Calen’s expression stiffened, his grip on the table tightened. He glanced briefly at Izzy. He hadn't read the

contract carefully. In the past, Izzy had always highlighted the critical points for him before client meetings. This

time, she hadn't met with him beforehand, leaving him blindsided. Seeing her smile, a bitter taste started to

spread in Calen’s mouth. Was she intentionally trying to embarrass him?

However, Izzy's polite smile didn’t waver. “Mr. Lin, I'm sure Mr. Weiss read the contract. However, | imagine his

busy schedule left little tfor the finer details.” She turned slightly toward the table. “But there’s no need to

worry. Since I'm leading the project this time, I've reviewed every word of the contract. In fact,” she added with a

small smile, “I may have memorized it.”

The room erupted in light laughter. Mr. Lin and several other executives exchanged amused glances. “Miss Rossi,

it’s rare to see someone with such dedication. That's commendable.”

“Indeed. That level of preparation will undoubtedly benefit the entire project,” Patricia Haynes added.

Izzy inclined her head gracefully at the praise. “Thank you. My team and | are committed to ensuring the

project’s success”

Meanwhile, Calen’s jaw tightened further as he clenched his teeth. His glare fixed on Izzy, but he remained

silent, his frustration building as the executives continued to praise her.

Mr. Lin turned back to the screen. “Now that we've addressed this, let's move forward. Miss Rossi, Mr. Weiss, we

trust that the collaboration between our teams will set an excellent foundation for this project.”

Izzy nodded confidently. “Absolutely, Mr. Lin. We'll ensure that all parties involved work seamlessly toward the

project’s goals.”

The executives exchanged approving nods, and Mr. Lin gestured for the meeting to proceed. Calen remained

quiet, his anger steaming inside him as Izzy continued to steal the spotlight he thought was his.

“Speaking of the collaborator...” Izzy smiled as she looked around the table. “May | know which company we are

collaborating with?” She had been introduced to everyone in the room, but none of them seemed qualified to

work with Weiss-International.

Everyone exchanged curious glances. However, before Mr. Lin could respond, the door opened, drawing the

room’s attention.

Serena Ji stepped in, her expression composed but carrying a hint of anticipation. “Mr. Lin, the special guest has

arrived.” Mr. Lin's face lit up with excitement. “Excellent! Please, show him in.”
