Izzy's eyes fluttered open to the soft morning light streaming through the curtains. The warmth of the sheets
clung to her, along with a disconcerting heaviness on her side. For a moment, her mind lagged, the blurry events
of the previous night refusing to align.
And then, reality hit her like a freight train.
She bolted upright, clutching the sheets to her chest. Her movement stirred Liam, who lay beside her, his arm
still draped across her waist. He let out a soft groan, his brows furrowing slightly before his eyes opened.
Izzy's face flushed crimson as she took in his disheveled hair and bare chest, the blankets pooling around his
waist. She snapped her gaze away, pulling the sheets higher as if they could shield her from the awkwardness of
the situation.
“What the hell happened last night?” she blurted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Liam propped himself up on one elbow, his expression unreadable. He blinked a few times, his dark eyes locking
onto hers. “You don’t remember?” he asked, his tone light, almost teasing.
Izzy's stomach twisted. “I” She pressed a hand to her forehead the fragmented memories from the night before
swirling in her mind like pieces of a broken mirror. She remembered the tension, the kiss, and the way things
spiraled out of control. “Of course, | remember.”

She pursed her lips as she turned her attention towards him. For a few seconds, she took in his appearance. But
what really caught her attention was the countless kiss marks on his neck!
Izzy's gaze lingered on the faint marks scattered across Liam's neck, each one a damning reminder of the night
she was trying to piece together. Her heart sank further into her stomach
“What are you staring at?” Lia
asked, his lips twitching as if he was trying not to laugh.
Izzy's eyes snapped to his face, her cheeks flushing deeper. “You look ridiculous,” she muttered, yanking the
sheets tighter around her. Is there a way to remove all the kiss marks? She blinked when she realized that he
was actually chuckling. He was laughing at her! “Do you find this funny?”
Liam sat up fully, leaning back against the headboard. His hand lazily rubbed the back of his neck, brushing over
the marks. “A little,” he admitted, his lips curving upward. “But only because you seem so... satisfied with your
handiwork.”
she cleared her throat and looked away. Izzy's brows furrowed. “Satisfied? You make it sound like-” She cut
herself off as This man is really going to make her life shorter! “Why are you acting like this is sgrand
event? Aren't we married?” The words left her mouth before she could stop them, and regret hit her instantly.
She looked away, cursing herself for giving him more ammunition. For sreason, her mouth had been very
careless around him lately.
Hearing this, Liam’s smirk widened, and before she could react, he grabbed her wrist and tugged her closer. The
sudden movement pulled her off balance. She landed against him, her chest brushing his. She froze as he
shifted, moving over her, pinning her lightly against the mattress.
Her breath caught as he looked down at her, his face mere inches from hers. The smugness in his expression
was infuriating. But then the memories of the night before once again filled her head. Again, her face felt so hot,
as if she was about to explode.
“You're right,” he said. “We're married. And this” His lips curved again, and he gestured to their disheveled state.
“This is exactly what married couples do all the time, isn’t it?”
Izzy's eyes widened. “You're right,” she said, trying to push him off her. “I was just stating the obvious.”

“Good,” Liam said, catching her wrist again and pinning it beside her head. “I like the way your mind works.”
Her heart thudded against her ribs as she stared up at him, caught between outrage and something she didn’t
want to name. His eyes flicked to her lips for the briefest moment before he leaned in, his mouth brushing
against hers in a way that made her toes curl.
Izzy's free hand gripped the sheets, her frustration bubbling over. “This doesn’t mean anything,” she managed
to say, her voice steady despite the rapid pounding in her chest.
Liam pulled back just enough to look at her, his smirk firmly in place. “Of course not,” he murmured. Then he
kissed her again, this twith more intent. His grip on her wrist loosened slightly, but he didn’t move away.
Izzy's mind screamed at her to push him off, to regain control, but her body betrayed her. Her lips parted
instinctively. Almost instantly, a spark ignited inside her as the kiss deepened, stealing the breath from her

Liam’s smirk softened into something almost smug. “See? Just a normal day for a married couple,” he teased.
Izzy swallowed. Last night... Last night was something else. As much as she wanted to deny it, Izzy was not
stupid enough to say that she didn’t like it. She took a deep breath. Why was she acting like a teenager who just
received her first kiss? She’s a damn twenty-five-year-old woman who has been through a lot.
“You're right.” This tIzzy finally acknowledged it. Last night, he didn’t actually force her to do anything. In
fact, it was the opposite. It was she who had been rushed, clumsy, and awkward. She was the one who ripped his
shirt and started kissing his neck. She recalled the influx of emotions that swirled inside her body. She wanted
him.
Again, she stared at his eyes as if she wanted to confirm something.
She wanted him.
Yes. That fact was undeniable. She wanted to be with him.
“Am 1?” he retorted as if her reaction surprised him. Then he smirked, a mischievous glint appearing in his eyes.
“Then.... shall we do what most couple do when both of them are naked?”
Before Izzy could process his words, he leaned in and captured her lips in another heated kiss, his hand trailing
to her waist. The tension between them crackled, but just as she began to lose herself in the moment, a sudden
vibration broke through the haze.
Her head snapped toward the bedside table, where her phone buzzed insistently. Then it was as if a bucket of ice
water had been dumped over her, jolting her back to reality. The faint fog of desire cleared as realization set in.
“The meeting...” she mumbled, her wide eyes meeting his gaze as the urgency of the day rushed back to her.
As if the universe decided to mock them, his phone began ringing too. They both froze, the interruption snapping
the
moment in two.
