Randy's face darkened. “Erica!”
Debra burst out laughing, and Erica turned to her.
“Debra, don’t laugh yet. You've been missing these days, so you probably don’t know what's happened. I've
been running around like crazy in your absence.”
“And what could be so important?”
“Things about you, of course.” Erica glanced at Marion and cleared her throat.
She pulled Debra aside and whispered, “Juan got engaged.”
Debra thought back to the day they had escaped death together in that mountain cave. It seemed like they were
even now.
But the news of his sudden engagement still surprised her.
“Weird, huh? Wanna guess who he’s engaged to?”
