Chapter 517 Judge Too Early
With a calm expression, Zephyr called out to Bjorn in Uprian, "Father."
After that, he gently patted Harrietta's head and asked, "What brings you here, Hattie?"
Harrietta glanced at Bjorn and said, "Granddad broughthere."
"Does your father know?"
Harrietta shook her head.
"How audacious! Aren't you afraid he might be a human trafficker, ready to sell you off?" Zephyr joked.
"I'm not afraid." Harrietta looked at Bjorn intently, biting her finger and tilting her head, "Granddad doesn't look
like a human trafficker." "You can't judge a book by its cover. Bad people won't wear labels on their faces. You
mustn't be so naive in the future, understand?" Harrietta obediently nodded.
At that moment, Bjorn glanced at Zephyr, scoffing coldly, before shifting his gaze to Harrietta.
With his deep blue eyes, he looked at Harrietta with affection. "Carol, are you really not willing to go back to
Fairlake with me?" Listening to Bjorn's gentle voice, Zephyr was taken aback for a moment. He then laughed at
himself in self-mockery.
Bjorn arrived in Zosteylor with his heart filled with fury. However, upon laying eyes on his granddaughter for the
first time, his anger was replaced with affection. The little girl, who bore sresemblance to his wife, stole his
heart with her intelligence and charm. She was fluent in two languages, a testament to her family's lineage.
There was no denying she was a child of the Wilson family. Conversing could bring two people closer.
If Harrietta didn't understand him at all and was terrified of him, Bjorn wouldn't have been as fond of her as he
was.
As a matter of fact, it was unclear who Isla took after. Neither her looks nor her intelligence bore any
resemblance to Bjorn or Meredith.
Bjorn and Meredith were both graduates of prestigious schools from decades ago. Most of their classmates were
engaged in scientific research and had long since becprofessors or academy members. There were also a
few who had entered politics and held high- ranking, lucrative positions.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEven when Caesare was stranded abroad under such challenging circumstances, he still did well. Perhaps there
has been a genetic mutation in Isla. However, no matter what, she's still my daughter, who is now suffering in
prison. Bjorn cast a cold glance at Zephyr, his gaze carrying a hint of warning.
"I'm sorry, Granddad." Harrietta shook her head, responding in Uprian, "I can't leave with you. If you miss me,
you're always welcto visitin Jacaster."
Harrietta could still discern who treated her well and who didn't.
Bjorn seemed to truly adore her. She had only followed him there but didn't want to leave Lenora and Zachary.
"Your mother, your uncle, your granny, and | will all love you dearly."
"My father also loves me. Even before he knew | was his daughter, he treatedexceptionally well."
Bjorn simply couldn't stand Zachary.
A few years ago, he was the cause of his daughter's unwed pregnancy and her having to raise her child alone. At
that moment, he had led her astray once again, causing her to commit illegal acts for his sake. At that moment,
she was suffering in the detention center because of him.
Had he not learned from Matthew that Zachary had transferred a portion of his shares to Harrietta,
demonstrating ssincerity, he would've caused Zachary trouble.
Bjorn felt he had already shown kindness toward the Fuller family by not holding any grudges. However, he was
unwilling to hand over the custody of his granddaughter. Hence, he pointed at Zephyr and asked Harrietta,
"What do you think of your uncle?" Harrietta tilted her head back to look at Zephyr.
Zephyr also lowered his gaze to look at her. Seeing the clarity in her eyes, he knew she hadn't understood the
implications of Bjorn's words.
"Uncle Zephyr is really great," Harrietta answered. He's handsand wealthy. He's not crazy like Ms. Isla.
"How about letting your uncle step in as your father?" Bjorn suggested.
It wasn't that they feared the scandal of a pregnancy before marriage tarnishing their daughter's reputation.
Rather, they sought someone who could replace Zachary in Harrietta's heart. Zephyr was the ideal choice.
Harrietta was taken aback, waving her hands in denial immediately. "How could that be possible? An uncle is an
uncle, and a father is a father. No one can replace the position my father holds in my heart." "Think it over once
more, Carol."
Upon seeing Harrietta's
determination, Bjorn had no choice but to compromise, saying, "I will be leaving in a few days, and | hope you
will accompanyto Fairlake to meet your granny. I'm certain she wilkadore you. If, after staying for a while,
you still wish to return, | will bring you back. Is that okay?"
Harrietta held up her fingers. "I need to discuss this matter with my daddy."
Bjorn pursed his lips. "All right. Have dinner with me, and after that, your uncle will take you home. I hope you
can givea satisfactory answer."
"I'll do my best."
Bjorn didn't say anything else. He just glanced at his secretary, who was a foreigner.
The secretary promptly presented the hotel menu.
"Carol, what do you like to eat?" Bjorn asked kindly.
Harrietta earnestly perused the menu, selecting a few of her favorites. After she finished, she courteously slid
the menu across to Bjorn, saying, "Granddad, your turn."
"All right. Cargl, you're truly sensible,"
Bjorn said. If were to bring such a smart and adorable granddaughter back, those old fools wouldn't dare to mock
After Bjorn had finished ordering, he then remembered that there was another person next to him.
He glanced up at Zephyr, his gaze indifferent. Tossing over the menu, he said in a brusque tone, "What do you
want to eat? Order it yourself."
Upon hearing those words, Harrietta lifted her gaze to look at Bjorn before turning her attention to Zephyr.
Zephyr's expression was calm as he closed the menu. "I already ate before | got here."
Bjorn no longer paid him any attention. Instead, he looked at Harrietta and asked gently, "Carol, would you like
anything else?"
In that fleeting moment, Harrietta, who was feeling overwhelmed, shuddered all over.
She shook her head and said, "No, Granddad. | can't eat that much. Uncle Zephyr, would you like to eat
something?"
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"Carol, don't worry about him. He'll order when he's hungry," Bjorn said, passing the menu to his secretary, Avril.
Immediately, Avril dialed the hotel's internal line to order a meal.
Zephyr had long grown accustomed to this. He gave Harrietta a reassuring smile, saying, "No need to worry
about me, Hattie."
"Oh." Harrietta's dark eyes flickered as she lifted her gaze to meet Bjorn's. Her face was serious as she
scrutinized the man's features. "Carol, what's wrong?" Bjorn curiously asked.
With a sly grin, Harrietta said, "Granddad, I've noticed you possess an extraordinary skill."
"What skill?" Bjorn, piqued by curiosity, asked further.
"You can change your expression very quickly," Harrietta replied in Clusian.
Zephyr immediately understood her meaning, his lips curling into a smile. Upon catching Bjorn's gaze, he
subdued the curve of his smile.
Back in the day, when Bjorn was
courting Meredith, he made a point of learning Clusian. However, due to her constant exposure to a Uprian-
speaking environment, Meredith's Uprian surpassed his
Clusian. The couple meinet
conversed in Uprian in their daily interactions, causing Bjorn's Clusian proficiency to gradually deteriorate.
When he heard Harrietta's words, Bjorn was taken aback. It took him a few seconds to digest and understand
what Harrietta meant.
Harrietta was actually mocking him.
Yet, he didn't feel angry at all. Instead, he found her to be intelligent, bold, interesting, and perceptive.
Bjorn chuckled helplessly and said, "Ha! You actually dare to tease me!"
