After reporting the destination, he kept urging the driver to go faster for he wanted to see Emma right away.

The car stopped in front of a suburban villa. He rang the doorbell, and when Emma cout and saw him, she

initially looked delighted. But when she noticed something was off about his expression, a sense of foreboding

mind.

“Robert, what brings you here?” asked Emma.

“You went to the hospital the day my father fell ill.” He phrased it as a statement, though it was a question.

Seeing the seriousness in Robert's eyes, Emma felt a pang of panic. “Robert, what nonsense are you talking

about? How could | have seen Mr. Davis?” She forced out a few tears. “If | had been there that day, maybe... he

wouldn't leave us...”

Looking at her feigned sorrow, he disgusted her right now to the extent he had once cared for her.

Robert thought, ‘Do you enjoy acting so much? Could you just stand there, pretending nothing had happened,

after causing my father to die? “Emma, how long do you plan to keep up this act?” asked Robert.
