Chapter 1265:
Adalina’s eyes fluttered open. The man stood with his back to the neon lights, tall and imposing. He was quickly
surrounded by the punks. Muffled sounds of a fight filtered through Adalina’s haze, and she vaguely saw people
crashing to the ground...
Tlost all meaning as Adalina lay there until gentle hands lifted her from the chilly ground. The man carried
her in his warm arms, the faint scent of tobacco surprisingly comforting to her.
In the hospital.
Two hours later, Adalina’s eyes sprang open, and she jolted upright. “Milford!”
“What are you talking about?” Ryann swiftly stood up and approached her, offering a glass of warm water. “How

Before Adalina could respond, Aaron rose from the sofa, his eyes filled with remorse. “Mrs. Vance, I'm deeply

Harlan smacked the back of Aaron's head. “You've put an innocent girl in harm’s way. The two of you are still in
college. Why did you take her to a place like that?”
Denzel swiftly intervened, his voice soothing. “Mr. Clarkson, please don’t be angry. Nothing happened to Adalina.
Aaron's timely intervention saved her. We just need to make sure they won't go there again.”
Adalina’s gaze swept across the chaotic room, her brow furrowing. She shifted her attention to Ryann and asked
softly, “Mom, was Aaron really the one who rescued me?”
Ryann paused for a moment before replying, “Yes, sweetie. Who else could it have been?”
Adalina’s face fell, her gaze dropping as a wave of disappointment washed over her. That familiar feeling... She
had thought it was Milford who had saved her.

Aaron, Ryann swiftly intervened, diffusing the tense situation.
“I'm so sorry about this,” Harlan said. “Aaron’s lack of discipline is my fault. | spoiled him, and he grew up

ensures something like this doesn’t happen again.”
Denzel quickly added, “Mr. Clarkson, you're being too harsh on yourself.”

As Denzel stood at the hospital entrance, he watched Harlan’s car disappear into the night. Out of the corner of
his eye, he noticed a figure lingering nearby, his expression darkening as he approached. “Why are you still
here?”
Milford leaned against a pillar, his face bearing the evidence of the recent scuffle: a swollen bruise on his cheek
and a crimson mark at the corner of his eye. He winced from the pain.
