The ruffians glanced at each other, bewildered. One blurted out angrily, “Do you even know the rules around
here? Who gave you the right to call the police?”
The man just shrugged with his hands open as he wore a genuine smile. “I follow the law. Why fight when you
can let the authorities handle it?”
Feeling disgusted, one of the ruffians spat on the ground and hurled a few more curses before they all retreated.
As Amanda collected herself, she looked up at her rescuer and gasped in surprise.
He looked remarkably like Elliot.
“You...” Amanda faltered, her eyes wide with shock. “How are you related to Elliot?”
“My nis Evan Andrews. Elliot is my older brother,” he answered.
Amanda responded quickly, “But the Andrews family is known to have only Elliot from this generation. How can
you be his brother?”
Evan let out a weary sigh. “Look at my face. Can’t you see the resemblance? I'm his half-brother, born out of
wedlock.”

As Amanda absorbed this revelation, Evan confirmed her suspicions.
She paused, taken aback. Owen Andrews didn’t seem the type to have a child out of wedlock, especially since
Evan appeared about the sage as Elliot, implying Owen might have been unfaithful during his wife's
pregnancy.

resist asking
“That's right. Now, let’s make sure you get hsafely,” Evan replied as he gently closed the car door behind
her. “And try not to go out alone at night for drinks again. You might not always bump into someone like me,”
he added.
Amanda nodded in agreement and bade him farewell.
Despite the mystery surrounding his sudden emergence and unclear intentions, Amanda felt a deep sense of
gratitude towards him. Without his intervention, she couldn’t imagine what might have happened tonight.
She vowed silently that the ruffians would not get away with their actions.
Once home, Amanda immediately recounted the ordeal to Jeremy.

Meanwhile, the ruffians, drunk and disheveled, made their way home.
“Damn that guy for calling the cops! Why did he have to do that? We almost got the chick!” complained the
curly-haired ruffian, belching loudly.
“It would've been one hell of a night,” added the taller one, struggling to walk straight.
“Just the thought of her getsexcited! Next time, she won't get away so easily,” the curly-haired ruffian
slurred.
In front of them, there was a group of men in black.
Mockingly, the ruffians jeered, “What's this? A midnight assembly in fancy dress?”
Their laughter was abruptly cut off as one ruffian began to choke and fell to the ground.
The sudden turn sobered the rest immediately, and they scattered in a panic.
Under the cover of night, their attempts to flee were in vain, and the area quickly echoed with their cries of
terror.
