Chapter 73 Don’t Waste
Your Efforts
Everyone was jolted back to reality and hurried to intercept Elliot.
Jason was especially quick, chasing after him and shouting, “Let go of Corynn!”
Corynn was taken aback by Elliot's sudden outburst. He had appeared out of nowhere, dismissed Jason's
declaration of love on her behalf, and was now dragging her away in full view of everyone.
“Letgo!” Corynn struggled vehemently.
She had just convinced herself to be with Jason, and she was not going to let Elliot's unexpected intrusion sway
her decision.
As Corynn resisted, Elliot's grip on her wrist tightened.
“Elliot, let go of Corynn!” Erick bellowed furiously from behind.
Elliot accelerated, quickly outpacing the others. His only focus was to get Corynn away from the scene as quickly
as possible.

The waitress at the door watched bewildered as the pair sprinted out, followed by a swarm of people from the
lobby,
She recognized Elliot as the man she had let in earlier...
Corynn, pulled along by Elliot, tried to keep pace, but her recent hospital stay had left her weak; soon, she was
gasping for breath.
She yanked her hand free from Elliot's grasp and leaned against a wall, panting and glaring at him. “Elliot, what
is this madness?”
Realizing they were lost after zigzagging through alleyways between shops, Elliot looked around; they were in a
place where it would be hard for anyone to find them.
He faced Corynn, stepped forward, and kissed her. Anticipating her resistance, he held her tightly. Unable to pull
away, Corynn bit him, and the taste of blood mingled in their mouths.
Corynn pounded on Elliot's chest with her fists, but her efforts were futile.
Closing her eyes, she bit down on his lower lip with all her strength.
If she couldn't find peace, neither would he!
Yet, Elliot seemed impervious to the pain, holding her tightly as if trying to fuse her into his very essence,
ensuring they would never part.

The piercing pain in his heart subsided only when he was close to Corynn.
With his eyes shut, Elliot trembled, still gripped by anxiety,
Only the act of kissing Corynn could soothe his restlessness.
After a prolonged moment, Elliot finally let go of Corynn. His lips were smeared with blood. He wiped his mouth,
then retrieved a tube of scar ointment and a ring box from his pocket.”
“Corynn, | brought you this ointment...”

Corynn shoved him away, wiped the blood from her lips with her sleeve, and turned to leave without uttering
a word.
“Corynn!” Elliot called out as he caught her hand again, his tone desperate.
Corynn looked down at her captured hand, her voice icy. “Let go!”
Elliot quickly opened the black velvet ring box. “Corynn, please don’t accept his proposal.”
Her eyes dropped to the pink diamond ring in Elliot’s hand. She took it, turning it over in her palm.
Noticing her contemplative look, Elliot felt a wave of relief wash over him-perhaps now she wouldn't accept
Jason's proposal.
He began, “Corynn, | personally—"
A cold laugh cut him off.
“Elliot, do you really think this will winback?” Corynn fixed him with a steady gaze, a scornful smile playing
on her lips. “Elliot, don’t waste your efforts.”
As she spoke, Corynn suddenly let the ring slip from her grasp.
