Chapter 197 Nancy's face turned pale, and without a second thought, she bolted.
It wasn't just Nancy-Neil's expression changed too, and he broke into a run without hesitation.
Mr. Buchanan wouldn't seriously harm Cyrus, would he? After all, their boss had a reputation from his days in the military.
Meanwhile, on the second floor.

Cyrus scowled, glaring at Lenard. "Let go!" Lenard sneered, showing his teeth. "Why should I listen to you? If you've got the guts, hit me!" Cyrus narrowed his eyes, gearing up to shout, but before he could, Judson's fist cflying toward him. Without hesitating, Cyrus lifted his leg and delivered a swift kick to Judson's chest.
Judson was just about to sidestep when an angry voice rang out from below. "Stop it, all of you!" With the voice's command, Judson shot Cyrus a cold smile.
Cyrus realized something was off, but it was too late to pull back his kick. His foot connected with Judson's chest. Judson lost his balance and stumbled backward, missing a step on the staircase and tumbling down with a loud crash.
"Judson!" Lenard's eyes widened in shock, his voice cracking with panic.
Cyrus' mind went blank. Did he really kick Judson that hard? Judson was playing him! Before Cyrus could gather his thoughts, Judson lay sprawled at the foot of the stairs.
Nancy lost all composure in an instant, rushing to Judson's side.
"Judson, are you okay?!" Judson's face was smeared with blood. Hearing Nancy's trembling voice, he lifted his head, eyes red. "Nancy, I'm fine... just my leg hurts a little..." His leg! Nancy's eyes darted to Judson's trembling right leg, realizing he was injured. She snapped her head up, her gaze fiery as she glared at Cyrus.
"Cyrus, are you out of your mind?!" Cyrus met Nancy's eyes, filled with utter disdain. "No, I didn't kick that hard..." "Not that hard? You kicked him down the stairs! That's assault!" Lenard shouted hysterically, not wasting another second before dashing down the stairs.
Cyrus was dumbfounded. "Assault?" "What else would you call it? Everyone saw you kick Judson down. These stairs are steep-it's practically attempted murder!" Neil's face twisted with anger.
Cyrus was utterly stunned. "No, I didn't! Nancy, don't believe what they're saying!" Before he could finish, a voice cut through, dripping with sarcasm: "If you did it, own up to it. At least then you'd be a man." Everyone turned, including Cyrus, to see Michael standing there on the opposite side of the second floor. Cyrus clenched his fists, visibly frustrated. "Why should I admit to something I didn't do? I barely touched Judson! If you have it, just showthe security footage!" "Security footage?" Michael scoffed. "You must be new here. Everyone knows the NY organization doesn't allow cameras at their gatherings." Cyrus' eyes widened, a chilling realization dawning on him as he looked from Michael to Judson, who was cradled in Nancy's arms.

"No, you're not, and you don't deserve to be!" Nancy bit out through Om clenched teeth, her eyes filled with nothing but contempt. "Good luck with that, Cyrus." Cyrus was speechless.
