Chapter 975:
“Mr. Scott, please enter.”
Eric hesitated at how he was addressed, shooting a quick sideways look at the person, a sneer of contempt
curling his lips. He marched into the building with purposeful strides.
Inside the expansive living room, Ferris lounged on the couch, a coffee table set before him. The kettle on the
stove had yet to whistle.
As Eric made his entrance, Ferris looked up. With brisk steps, Eric approached and stared down at Ferris,
irritation evident in his voice.
“I showed up. Now tellwhere they are.”
Without acknowledging Eric’s question, Ferris simply gazed up at him. His eyes traced over the young man’s
face, examining every detail with care.
“The resemblance is uncanny.”
Uncanny resemblance? Eric was puzzled by Ferris’ hint.
“I mean...” Ferris rose from the couch. His eyes didn’t leave Eric’s face. “You and Ernest. The resemblance is
almost exact.”
“You're just stating the obvious,” Eric responded sharply, his expression stoic.
“Yet,” Ferris continued calmly, despite Eric's brusqueness, and smiled as he steered the conversation in a new

Those words hit Eric hard. His entire body reacted like someone had struck a nerve. Eric's gaze hardened as he
confronted Ferris, outrage coursing through him. The audacity of Ferris to bring up his mother was unforgivable.
Eric kept his fury buried deep, masking it with a cool and collected expression.
“My mother died when | was very young. Did you know her, Mr. Scott?”
Ferris was momentarily caught off guard. For a brief second, surprise flickered across his face. But then it
dawned on him—Eric was playing dumb.

“Died young? How can you even say that?” Ferris was direct. He had summoned Eric here for a reason. Looking
intently at Eric, he pressed on. “You've lived under the shadow of being Ernest's younger brother for years, all
because you look like him. But remember, you inherited your looks from your mother. How dare you dishonor her
memory?”
Silence enveloped the room.
Eric fixed his gaze on Ferris. He knew that Ferris’ call meant trouble and perhaps even recognition. Considering
everything the Scott family had been doing lately, it was clear Ferris had dug deep. Despite anticipating some
revelations, Eric was still momentarily shaken.
This fear had always lived in him. It was planted early and never really left. Years passed, and he built himself
into someone strong, someone unshakable. But deep inside, that fear still clung to him.
Eric’s jaw tightened, and his eyes becfiery. “Enough! Don’t speak about her again! You don’t have the
right!”
Now that everything was exposed, he saw no point in putting up an act.
“Mr. Scott!” One of Ferris’ men couldn't stay quiet. “Please show sdecorum! Is that how you address your
father?”
“Father?” Eric burst into mocking laughter, as if the word were the punchline of a ludicrous joke.
