Chapter 37 At the studio, Stephanie had been stuck in meetings all afternoon.
Just as the clock hit six, her phone rang. It was Sebastian. "Cdown. I'm parked outside the building," he said.
"You know you can't park there, right? Why not just go to the underground garage?" said Stephanie. "Exactly. So hurry up," Sebastian simply replied.
"Alright," Stephanie hung up the phone, and hastily shoved a bunch of documents and gadgets into her limited edition designer bag.
Her assistant, Jennifer, watched in horror. "Miss, that's a collector's item," she couldn't help but reminded her. "Huh? Is it?" Stephanie replied. She had no idea.
'Seriously?' Jennifer thought. She was stunned. How could someone be so clueless? Did Stephanie not realize how expensive her things were when she bought them? Their studio's annual profits weren't even that high, yet she spent money like it grew on trees. And the gifts-she had handed out luxury items to the staff like they were freebies.
For someone who had broken off her engagement with the Ashford family, she was still spending like royalty. Was Stephanie secretly srich heiress? Jennifer started to doubt. The Hart family definitely didn't spoil her that much... Otherwise, why would she be out here running a studio? "Alright, I went over everything in the meeting. Keep an eye on things," Stephanie instructed.
Jennifer nodded. "Got it." With that, Stephanie strode out.
The moment she stepped outside, she spotted the flashy car parked down the street.
She quickly walked over, and it was then when her phone buzzed again.

A voice, low and heavy with restrained anger, cthrough the line. Even through the phone, Stephanie could hear the fury simmering beneath the surface. It was Tyler.
Stephanie rolled her eyes. "What do you want?" "Call Dr. Pierce and tell her to cback, now," growled Tyler.
"Who do you think you are, Tyler?" Stephanie snorted. "Why don't you call her yourself?" The air on the other end of the line went dead quiet for a moment.
"Stephanie!" Tyler's voice cthrough, his anger now completely uncontained. "You've really lost all sense of decency, huh?" "Decency?" Stephanie grinned. "Am I breaking the law or something?" 1/4 Chapter 37 Tyler ground his teeth together. "Say that again and I swear..." "Oh please," Stephanie smirked. “You're so out of touch, you wouldn't know what's going on if it hit you in the face That was the last straw. Tyler's patience snapped. He shouted to the phone. "Stephanie! Where the hell are you? "If you're so smart, why don't you findyourself?" Stephanie shot back. And then-click. She by p On the other end, Tyler nearly threw his phone against the wall. Stephanie was really pushing him to the edge, First, he couldn't find her at Cloudridge Valley.
Then, he cback to the hospital, tried calling-only to realize she had blocked him.
It took forever to borrow someone else's phone, and just when he finally got through, she routed him like a marshmallow over an open flame.
Now? He was ready to hunt her down and wring her neck.
Catlin, who had overheard everything, sighed deeply. "She really hates us that much? What did we ever do to deserve this?" Tyler rage flared. "What did we do? We gave her everything-everything! And this is how she repays us With a growl, he immediately dialed someone. “I don't care what it takes-find her? Catlin sighed again, glancing at the ward. "Alright, enough. Don't forget you've got Mr. Hodge's birthday banquet tonight Get a move on, don't waste time." "But what about Stephanie-" Tyler hesitated.
"I'll handle it," Catlin cut him off, eyes narrowing.
-She had figured it out by now. Threats wouldn't work on Stephanie.
It was tfor a different tactic-sweet-talk her into coming back.
Meanwhile, Stephanie slid into the car. Only then did she realize there was someone else in the front seat. "Macro? What brings you here?" Stephanie was surprised.
As the famous cardiologist from Fiorenza, Stephanie thought Macro would be busy dealing with surgeries and business. She didn't expect to see him here.
Macro turned around, grinning at her. "Well, well, look at you. Hiding so well, I swear, if Sebastian didn't find you soon, he'd start digging up graves to see if you were buried there.” Stephanie felt a pang of guilt. She shot a quick, guilty glance at Sebastian sitting next to her.
Sebastian didn't make any comments. He snatched Stephanie's phone without asking. Stephanie almost jumped up. "Hey, give it back to me," she declared.
"I'm just checking if anything's suspicious." Sebastian explained.
Stephanie watched in stunned silence as Sebastian scrolled through her contacts, messages, and WhatsApp. Was he investigating her? She couldn't believe it.

I've been out of school for years!" she complained Back then, the rule was no dating while in school. But wasn't in school anymore, Stephanie hated it when Sebastian tried to investigate her, Sebastian just chuckled. In one smooth motion, he pulled her onto his lap.
Stephanie was feeling uncomfortable. Her eyes widened, "Wait.., Macro is still here" "That's fine." Sebastian said. He pressed a button, and the divider between the front and back seats slid up without warning Stephanie squirmed in his lap, trying to get free. "Sebastian, I'm grown up now!" Sebastian broke into a soft laughter. "Is that so? So now you're ready for a relationship?" Stephanie frowned. Relationship? She didn't even think about it.
She remained silent, but Sebastian pressed on. "Or are you planning to go through with that engagement with Chris Ashford? The wedding is only a few days away. If I hadn't cback... would you really have gone through with it?" Stephanie felt a chill creep down her spine. There was something in his voice-dangerous.
"No," she replied.

She hadn't resisted the engagement because she knew Chris wasn't going to go through with it. Especially with Olivia involved.
And even more so-she had no idea if the Casalini family was truly gone.
If someone was still out there, watching, waiting for her to make a wrong move, she couldn't risk Sebastian getting caught in the crossfire.
"Are you so sure?" Sebastian asked.
"Well, you saw it for yourself. He abandonedfor another woman," Stephanie shrugged and replied.
Sebastian remained silent. The mention of "another woman" made the atmosphere sink even further.
Although Stephanie's situation with Chris had already made him om displeased, the fact that the brat from the Ashford family had abandoned Stephanie for another woman made him even more furious.
He couldn't endure seeing his precious little sister, whom he had raised with such care, being treated this way by another man.
Sebastian's eyes narrowed. He didn't speak up but patted Stephanie on her back.
